My Community Directory is a large online database about community organisations and services that can be accessed by everyone.
My Community Directory connects communities by providing the same contact information to organisations, councils and government – the tools we need to work closer together.
It’s free (and will remain this way) to list and manage
information about your organisation and services.
Remember this is your information and for any directory to be useful, it needs to remain up-to-date.
Community members can access the database and search for services online for free too– in fact they can send emails to service providers directly from the directory.
MEMBERSHIP
Community organisations receive free membership which allows organisations to be in control of information about the services they provide.
Community organisations may upgrade their membership level to be able to download information. Information can be accessed in useful formats such as CSV (data file) and .xls used by Microsoft Excel to mail merge data – saving time and keeping you up-to-date. Upgraded membership has been designed as a cost effective way to be able to access information about the Community Sector (ie disability/aged care etc) in which you work. Your membership allows you to download information in areas that you have an active service listed.
Ways you may wish to use the data are to:
- send your Christmas cards
- organise a local meeting
- help find a current service user other services
- find staff
- plan a regional training program.
The cost associated with membership is to continue to develop the directory to reduce the risk of information being accessed by spammers. We all hate spam.
Because we all hate spam, membership requires you to:
- Restrict access to the data for staff use within your organisation only (the data downloaded is embedded with information to track who and when it was downloaded)
- Use the data for non-profit purposes (you cannot provide commercial products or advertising using data without breeching the Spam Act 2003.
Membership Fees
The directories are open to community organisations to
download for free until 1 May 2010.
Community Membership is based on the size and purpose of your organisation. Your membership costs are available when you log in to your membership page.
Upgraded membership is from $95+ GST^ per Outlet*
^ Membership fees remain fixed – however all fees are indexed annually.
* Unlimited access to community organisation information listed in My Community Directory “in your sector”
