The Australian Department of Families, Housing Community Services and Indigenous Affairs has responsibility for developing and implementing strategies to address issues concerning families, communities and economic and social participation. This is achieved through implementing policies and programs that support children, working age people, people with disabilities, carers, the aged, people living in rural and remote areas, people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities across the country.
