The Department of Housing, through Home Assist Secure, aims to remove some of the practical housing related difficulties experienced by people with a disability and people over 60 years of age who wish to remain living in their home. Home Assist Secure provides free information and referrals about home maintenance, repairs, modifications and home security. To be eligible,a person must be a home owner or live in rental housing with owners permission. Subsidised assistance with minor home maintenance, repairs, modifications and security maybe available for eligible clients. All clients pay for materials. Areas serviced are: Greenslopes, Mt Gravatt, Nathan, Wishart, Macgregor, Sunnybank, Stretton/Karawatha, Holland Park Mt Gravatt East, Carindale, Roachdale, Robertson, Runcorn, Holland Park West, Upper Mt Gravatt, Mansfield, Eight Mile Plains, Sunnybank Hills, Kuraby.
