Community Health Service - Inala

The services provided by the Inala Community Health Centre, Southside Health Service District, Queensland Health include oral health, mental health services, HACC, alcohol and drug services, diabetes education and other health education, confidential counselling, General Practice, Indigenous Health services, children's health services, children's developmental services, physiotherapy, podiatry and dietary advice. Referral information regarding service enquiries can be made to the Central Intake Unit on (07) 3275 5411. The Inala Community Health Centre offers access to Home and Community Care (HACC) programs, which provide frail aged people, people with a disability and the carers of such people access to practical support services that assist them to continue living in their own home. Children's Developmental Services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team providing assessment and intervention programs for children with developmental and learning problems, as well as support to their families. The service also provides educational programs within the community on issues related to child development. Free general Dental treatment is available to eligible patients (Queensland residents with a health care card, pension card or seniors card). The Inala Primary Care provides a General Practice. It is unique in that the Practice is jointly managed by both the QEII District and the Centre for General Practice, University of Queensland. Primary services provided by the Practice include family medicine, emergency services, paediatrics/immunisation, antenatal care, pathology collection services, counselling, alcohol and drug (detox), home visits, clinical pharmacy consultations and counselling and education by nurses for diabetes, blood pressure, asthma and smoking The Inala Community Health Centre also has access to interpreters and offers the services of general practitioners and a Spanish interpreter on Wednesdays 9.00 am to 12.00 noon, and the services of general practitioners and a Vietnamese interpreter on Tuesdays 9.00 am to 12.40 pm.
