Special Education Programs
About Us
We provide education programs and projects in digital visual communication (digital photography) to community groups that work in youth, education, disability. Our programs foster and encourage positive forms of communication of individuals and communities via the narratives of the visual image. The Big Picture programs allow communities to find expression and voice through the power of digital imagery encouraging community engagement and dialogue.
The Department of Broadband, communications and digital economy have current inititives that encourage all community groups to become actively involved in the broader digital community so that they and there organisations can further promote and partake in the rapidly growing digital media era.
Big Picture runs two types of education programs and activities. For older community members we operate "digital Literacy" projects that aims to educate and encourage community groups to embrace and utilise the medium digital communication and internet. Our other program is aimed towards youth groups and promotes "Image Literacy" programs that encourage positive visual communications and educates youth about the positives and potential negatives of our visual driven online society.
