University of the Third Age - Bribie Island

U3A is a self help education movement which caters for persons in the 'third age' and for all adults, promoting the concept of studying simply for the joy of learning. It is not a formal University, and does not offer formal qualifications nor set academic qualifications as a pre requisite for entry. Classes are held in many areas and also in private homes. The service plays a vital role in improving the quality of life of retired persons/and all other adults. The courses are run by volunteer tutors and include; Languages, beginners and intermediate - Italian, German, French, Spanish, Indonesian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Book Discussion, Calligraphy, Computers- Beginners and Introductory, word processing, Web Page design, Creative Writing for Beginners, Drawing and Clay Modelling for Sculpture, Family History, General Knowledge, Guitar for Beginners, Italian Culture, Art and History, Languages, Learning and Living In the Third Age-Telling the Stories, Sharing the Wisdom, Music - Keyboard/Piano, Oil Painting, Poetry, Play Reading, Sewing - Basic, Ddrama, TaiChi,Meditation,Movie Group,Mahjong,Croquet,Poetry,Card-making and Crafts.
