Holiday Program

The Canberra Girls Grammar School Age Care, managed by the School, incorporates the after school care and holiday program at the Junior School campus. The holiday program caters for children aged five to twelve years, who are already attending a primary school or kindergarten program during the school term. Children from outside the CGGS community are welcomed.

The holiday program provides a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can pursue play activities of their choice and build positive relationships. The program enables children to play and grow at their individual level of development and pace, developing their social, emotional, intellectual and physical abilities. A combination of indoor and outdoor activities are provided each day and are guided by children’s interests and needs.

The program is located at the Junior School's Undercroft (canteen area), adjacent to the outdoor areas and adventure playground. At times the program makes use of other areas of the school including the school oval, library and hall.

The centre is open 8.00am to 5:45pm daily during Girls Grammar term breaks. Families are asked to drop their children off before 9am, and pick up any time after 3pm (unless other times are communicated with the centre). The centre is closed between Christmas and New Year and on public holidays.

Applications for the program open at the end of Week 3 of each term, and close at the end of Week 8.

Families are asked to complete a form each holiday period (returning families are only required to complete the mandatory fields on the forms). Families will then receive a confirmation email from the Centre within 48 hours of completing the form.This confirmation email will contain formal confirmation of the enrolment, an invoice outlining the charges (including child care rebate/benefit entitlements), excursion forms and further information about the program.

Places are limited and are filled on a 'first come, first booked' basis. Completion of an application form does not guarantee a place in the program.
