The Hall

Treat your guests to a unique experience of dining in the Museum’s majestic Hall among some of the larger objects from the National Historical Collection. The Hall is a stunning architectural space with high ceilings, curved walls and expansive windows reminiscent of the Sydney Opera House.

Bay Window

The Bay Window offers both dramatic architecture and intimacy within the larger Hall space. Expansive curved windows provide a stunning backdrop to your  event, and access to the Lakeside Deck can be arranged on request.

Peninsula Room

The Peninsula Room is both a practical daytime venue and a stunning evening event space. Located right on the water’s edge, its floor-to-ceiling windows offer an abundance of natural light and views over Lake Burley Griffin and the Garden of Australian Dreams. Guests also have exclusive use of an external deck and breezeway perfect for pre-dinner canapés or an outdoor breakout space.

Museum Cafe

With its architecturally designed spaces and amazing views over Lake Burley Griffin, the Museum Cafe provides an impressive backdrop for your event. High ceilings combine with expansive windows in this award-winning space, with access to the outdoor deck/balcony available on request.

Visions Theatre

Visions Theatre is a dedicated lecture theatre suitable for talks, presentations and film screenings for up to 177 people. Access to the green room is available on request.

Friends Lounge

The Friends Lounge is a modern, relaxing and intimate space for informal social gatherings.

Garden of Australian Dreams

At the heart of the Museum is the Garden of Australian Dreams, a symbolic landscape exploring ideas of ‘place’ and ‘country’. This outdoor area, with its water features, creative landscaping and lighting effects, is encircled by the Museum building, providing a magical setting for any evening event.

Amphitheatre and Lakeside Deck

This impressive outdoor venue, situated right on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, makes a perfect setting for an event under the stars.
