Home Energy Assessment Program

Assists low income households with education and support to reduce their energy bills and keep their homes comfortable.

An Outreach Officer visits people in their homes and provides a free assessment to determine the best ways to reduce their energy bills and make their household environment more comfortable. During an assessment, an energy officer will:

• perform an individual household energy assessment
• provide tailored advice to help reduce energy usage
• Provide advocacy for efficient appliance upgrades (where eligible)
• Provide a heated throw rug and cooling towel
• perform draught-proofing of the house
• provide new energy efficient products e.g. curtains and wool doonas (subject to additional eligibility requirements)
