About Us

Established by the ACT Domestic Violence Agencies Act 1986, with the objective of reducing the incidence of domestic violence offences. Advises the Minister for Justice and Community Safety on any matter relating to domestic violence.

Consists of the Domestic Violence Project Coordinator and twelve other members including the Council Chairperson, ACT public servants, an ACT Policing representative and community representatives.

Includes representatives appointed specifically because they understand the perspectives of non-English speaking people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, respectively.
