parkrun - Burley Griffin

This is an out and back course, starting near the Weston Park playground, and running along the path out towards the park entrance. Following the path from the start, the lake will remain on your left until you meet the turn-around point - then head back the same way you came. This is a gently undulating course that starts on gravel before quickly transitioning to newly laid bicycle path, and is suitable for prams and dogs on leads. To the left of the path is the beautiful Lake Burley Griffin, with Black Mountain in the background. You wind your way back out towards the park entrance, before turning at the 2.5km mark (marshal on site) and head back the same way - providing high-5’s to your fellow parkrunners. Facilities Toilets are located in the park, along with plenty of free parking and children’s playgrounds. Getting There Location of startThe run starts near the Weston Park playground. Getting there by public transportPublic transport does not operate to Yarralumla on a Saturday in time for this event. Getting there on foot Getting there by roadIf using SATNAV, enter Weston Park Road, Yarralumla. If travelling from Canberra city centre, take Commonwealth Avenue, cross the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge and turn right at Coronation Drive. Head straight through the roundabout onto Alexandrina Drive, following it all the way past the YMCA Sailing Club, to Weston Park. If travelling from Tuggeranong, take the Tuggeranong parkway until the Cotter Road exit. Turn right onto Cotter Road. Follow for Xkm, then turn left into Dudley St, Yarralumla. Turn left at the first roundabout into Novar Street and follow it to the end. Turn Left into Brown St, then right into Weston Park Road. If travelling from Belconnen/Gungahlin, take the Gungahlin Drive/Caswell Drive/Tuggeranong parkway, until Cotter Road exit. Turn left onto Cotter Road. Follow for Xkm, then turn left into Dudley St, Yarralumla. Turn left at the first roundabout into Novar Street and follow it to the end. Turn Left into Brown St, then right into Weston Park Road. Parking is available close at same location as the Miniature Railway (follow the signage in the park).
