About Us
Masters Athletics represent fitness, fun and fellowship across a range of athletic activities for men and women aged 30 and over. The club boasts a membership of over 200. Everyone, from beginner to elite is welcome. Standards and performances are recorded in five-year age groups. Everyone participates in heats or groups at their own standard. Handicap events are especially popular, encouraging and rewarding improvement and fitness gained through the year. The philosophy of the movement is PARTICIPATION. Come along and enjoy yourself in running, walking, throwing or jumping.
Our Main Activities
Monthly Running Handicaps
Run in forests and on trails around Canberra. Usually the last Sunday of each month at 9.00am (8:30am in November, January and February) at different locations around Canberra. There are short and long course running events and a short course walk event.
Monthly Throwing Handicaps
Usually the last Saturday of each month from 1.00pm at the Masson Street oval, Turner.
Track and Field Season
Thursdays 6.00-9.00pm, October to March, at Woden Park. The program consists of varying events, including sprints, middle and long distance runs, throws, jumps and walks.
Annual Masters Half Marathon. Held in conjunction with the Canberra Runners half marathon in May.
Training and Coaching
Coaching advice is available for all events conducted by the club.

Coaching available at throwing competitions.
High Jumping
Sprinting
During the track season 9.30am Sundays, at various venues around Canberra
Pack Runs
Varying distances for all abilities.
Sundays and Tuesdays at 9.00am from Weston Park and Black Mountain Peninsula.

Volunteers welcome. Members volunteer at T&F twice per season and once per season at the Run Walk Handicap series.
