About Us

Jump Start Program at Warehouse Circus aims to address the needs of young people at risk of entering, or currently involved with the justice system. This program offer circus classes to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The goal is to engage them through early intervention in collaboration with their local school communities and their youth justice service providers.

The program adheres to the values of Warehouse Circus as well as the outlined goals in the Canberra Plan and Youth Justice Blue Print for 2012 to 2022. The program have being going on for several months now to help youth fell a sense of belongingness with their communities. The plan is to run the program until 2020. By that time, we can produce a guide on how to run the program in the future. This will help us identifies future expectation and how to sustainably engage with local community and schools. We hope this guide will be implemented by the wider circus community within Australia and within the growing global social circus movement.

We are happy to meet with schools and community organisations to start partnerships, and deliver the Jump Start program in their community. Please contact the Warehouse Circus office to get involved or see website for more detail
