Waratah Respite Centre - Coffs Harbour

Waratah Respite Services promotes independence, person centred care; and ensures individual choice is acknowledged, respected and accommodated in the development of individual care and activity plans.

At Waratah we deliver centre based social support programs for frail older people and those with dementia Monday to Friday at our Coffs Harbour Centre, and at our Seagulls Centre in Woolgoolga Wednesdays and Fridays. The programs assist to maintain activities of daily living and enhance a person’s independence, wellbeing and socialisation as well as providing respite care for those caring for them.

We also provide carers with the additional option of overnight respite in our six bed Maureen Guthrie Cottage. Overnight respite is flexible enough to suit the needs of the carers and the clients and a stay can be as long as two days to two months.

All clients who attend the social support programs are provided with morning and afternoon tea and a two course meal that meet the recommended dietary intake for meals. Transport is also provided for clients who qualify for assistance under the Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme.
