If you or a family member is isolated at home, or has lost touch with close friends and relatives, our social outings are the ideal solution for reducing social isolation and loneliness. Our outings and activities enable you to remain connected to the community and develop new friendships in a supportive environment. We can link you with one of our friendly volunteers who accompany you for a morning tea or lunch, a trip to the movies other other activity of interest on a regular basis. If you prefer to meet a range of likeminded people, our fortnightly bus outings and/or smaller interest groups may be more your choice.
Our fortnightly bus outings operate on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and each outing has staff and volunteers in attendance to assist you with any special needs you may have, and fully modified buses promote ease of access. Our fortnightly bus outings include pick up and drop off at your door and an opportunity to meet new friends over lunch and visit places of interest in and around the local community.
If you prefer to socialise with a smaller group of people, Linked to Life organises a wide range of activities and events that may be more specific to your tastes and interests. Visits to local theatre events and concerts, lunches and other speciality community events, or a weekly gentle exercise class are just some of the activities available on a regular basis. One of our friendly volunteers will provide pick up and return to your door.
Our bi-lingual staff host regular group activities for older people and carers of older people from the local Punjabi community, with a weekly Mens group, fortnightly Ladies group and occasional Carer group activities.
