About Us

Welcome to Share Your Home!

We are an independent organisation dedicated to helping our homeless mates connect with Aussies willing to share their home for short term FREE accommodation.

Our pilot program will run for 6 months and target homeless youth (all gender orientations 15 - 19) and women of all ages.

Are you Homeless?

Homeless? Not having a safe place to lay your head down is hard. Most times it feels like you never get a break. If you feel like life keeps knocking you down - knock on our door!

Share Your Home is designed to connect you with people willing to provide FREE short term accommodation (up to 3 months) while you get back on your feet.

Signup For A Homeless Account

(1) Sign up a Homeless Account.

(2) Make an appointment with a service provider who works with you (any not for profit or charity or government agency that can verify your identity).

(3) Once you have been verified you can start looking for a home to share.

WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THE FOLLOWING

1. Getting to know your homeowner via our messaging service on Share Your Home e.g. do they have pets, children, are they near transport, do they have any house rules etc.

2. Download our Short-term lease agreement. Both you and your host need to sign it.

3. Once you and your host have agreed on a date for you to move in, email us so we can send out your Welcome Home Pack.

Do you want to Share Your Home?
Learn how to become a Host

More & more Australians need somewhere safe to call home. Share your home is designed to connect our homeless mates with Aussies who have a spare room to share. For up to 3 months FREE accommodation.

Signup For A Host Account

Follow these simple steps and you will be sharing your home soon.

1. Sign up for a Host Account.

2. Apply for a National Police Check (Don't worry, we pay for this! This is the least we can do for you).

3. Download our Short-term lease agreement.

We will send an email once your National Police Check clears. You will then be able to log in to Share Your Home and add your home details.

WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THE FOLLOWING

1. When one of our homeless mates sends you a message via our website, do not give them your address straight away. Take the time to get to know them first.

2. Set house rules! These can be whatever will make you feel comfortable sharing your home, e.g. do not smoke inside the house, do not play loud music after a certain time, do not invite your friends over etc.

Are you a Service Provider

A service provider’s role is integral to our dream of giving our homeless mates a home. Every homeless person who signs up to Share Your Home is required to be verified by a service provider who knows them. Once verified they can start searching for a home.

What is a Service Provider

A service provider can be a soup kitchen, a homeless shelter or any of the hundreds of groups that work tirelessly every week to make our homeless mates' lives easier.

(1) Sign up for a Service Provider Account
(2) Email [email protected] to let us know you have signed up and we will check that you are a not for profit or charity. Once confirmed, we will email you and you will be ready to start verifying our homeless mates.
