Social Support Program

Telecross provides a free, daily phone call by volunteers to people who live alone, are socially isolated or at risk of accident or illness. Clients can receive calls seven days a week and calls are made in the morning between 8am and 9:30am.

If clients don’t answer their phone, volunteers will make a further attempt before notifying Telecross staff who will contact the client’s nominated contacts to ask them to check on the client immediately. If no-one is available Red Cross will request that the police visit to conduct a welfare check.
