About Us
Club activities include regular get-togethers to sew and chat.
- Every Friday night the club meets at 7pm - 10pm at the Letchworth Neighbourhood Centre at 28 Miller Street, Queanbeyan. Each fourth Friday night is the business meeting with raffles, show and tell, often with a speaker and rostered supper.
- On the second and fourth Thursday morning of each month from 9.30am - 12.30pm members and guests meet in the Karabar Community Centre at 183 Cooma Street.
- Queanbeyan Quilters puts on biennial exhibitions of their work, usually in April.
- Members run skills workshops from time to time and set challenges and monthly theme sew-alongs.
- The club makes numerous gift quilts for local, national and international organisations.
- Guest speakers at meetings cover a range of textile-related topics.
- The club has an extensive library of patchwork and quilting books and magazines. Fosters an interest in the history of patchwork and quilting not only in Australia but worldwide.
