About Us

The CAFSS program aims to assist people who are experiencing difficulties due to their own or a loved one’s alcohol or other drug use.  The program offers clients support, assessment, interventions and referrals.

Assessment is conducted by two workers in a caring, empathetic, confidential and non-judgemental manner. The assessment is used to identify and negotiate what assistance is required and can be provided by CAFSS.

Counselling support is provided to clients while they decide what options are best for them.  It is also offered to clients before, during and after undertaking other alcohol and other drug treatment programs (such as detoxification).  Practical options are discussed with clients to help manage their situation and there is ongoing support for the individual and/or their families.

The CAFSS program is delivered using a recovery framework and bio-psychosocial harm minimisation approach to create sustainable change.
