I was elected as the State Member for Mount Isa in 2012. Born and raised in North Queensland made me a strong candidate whom had empathy and passion for rural and regional communities. I acquired my degree in Applied Science (Property Economics) at the Queensland University of Technology in 1999 and became an Associate at the Associate Australian Property Institute (AAPI). I once owned and ran 'Katter Property' and did a two year stint working in the mines. Having done service on the Mount Isa City Council as Councillor for four years led me to my elected role within Queensland State Parliament. Additionally, I am a keen sports enthusiast and (when scheduling allows it) am involved in local sports and in my younger days used to competed at a high level in rugby league. I also enjoy the local theater and choir and am a local talent at the Hughenden Music Festival, having performed in 2014 and asked to come back again in 2015 - will keep you posted if Hughenden will have me perform for 2016. I am proud to serve the electorate of Mount Isa. Being given the opportunity to be a voice for the following shires is a privilege: - Boulia Shire Council - Burke Shire Council - Carpentaria Shire Council - Cloncurry Shire Council - Croydon Shire Council - Diamantina Shire Council - Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council - Etheridge Shire Council - Flinders Shire Council - McKinlay Shire Council - Mornington Island Shire Council - Mount Isa City Council - Richmond Shire Council - Winton Shire Council
