About Us

Redeemer Lutheran Primary School commenced in 1978, and is now a single stream, co-educational, Christian School with 190 students from Preparatory to Year 6. Redeemer offers a comprehensive curriculum with the development of Numeracy and Literacy skills as a focus throughout the School. A sequential English programme beginning in Prep, which includes developing phonics skills, sight words and comprehension is in place in the Junior School.

The use of integrated Units in the upper School gives real purpose for English development. The committed and caring teaching staff are assisted by a number of specialist teachers including Physical Education, Library, Music, Learning support and Japanese. In 2007 a purpose built library was added to the School’s modern facilities, which are set in pleasant garden surrounds. Each teaching space has an interactive whiteboard, data projector and speaker system which staff use to integrate Information Technology into the natural learning environment of the students which enhances their technology skills development and engages students in interactive learning. Fifty (50) laptops, the equivalent of 2 computer laboratories are available through out the school.

Redeemer School has networked with other Lutheran Schools in Bundaberg, Kingaroy, Hervey Bay and Gladstone who are in similar geographic locations. Together these schools support each other and liaise with Lutheran Education Queensland who provide support for the specific needs unique to schools outside the South East Corner.
