About Us
Prep to Year 6. St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Biloela, was founded in 1939 by the Sisters of Mercy, a Catholic teaching order of sisters founded by Catherine McAuley. The success of the school is attributed to the close, complementary relationship enjoyed amongst the staff, the students, the parents and the parish community. The families of St Joseph’s are supportive of the school with the School Board and Parents and Friends Association playing important roles in the welfare of the school. St.Joseph’s is an integral part of the wider Biloela and Callide Valley communities. We foster an enriching relationship with neighbouring schools, particularly Biloela State High School, Biloela State Primary School, Thangool State School and Redeemer Lutheran Primary School. We also enjoy close ties with Callide Power Station, Callide Mine, Banana Shire Council and a number of local service organisations. St Joseph’s is involved in the wider community through participation in local events such as the Eisteddfod, Local Show, Under 8’s Week and the Anzac Day March. St Joseph’s works cooperatively with other schools through PCAP, sporting events, guest speakers, visiting artists, developing transitional programs with other primary schools and the high school.
