About Us
Central Queensland Rural Health (CQRH) aims to support, enhance and develop the delivery of quality health services to the residents of rural Central Queensland. We achieve this by working in collaboration and co-operation with general practitioners, other health service providers and consumers across our footprint.
As an organization we have over 20 years of rural health and project management experience and we also manage rural general practices which has resulted in a deep appreciation and understanding of the health needs in our local communities
CQRH has led the delivery of Allied Health Services on the ground with professionals based at Medical Centres and private rooms across Central Queensland.
We are currently undertaking a pilot project funded by the Integrated Care Innovation Fund coordinated by the Clinical Excellence Division of Queensland Health. The project will improve Allied Health service delivery in the Banana Shire, and will address the Allied Health needs of over 15,742 people spread over 28,577 square kilometres in the towns of Biloela, Moura, Theodore, Taroom, Baralaba and Wowan. The project team is working to ensure the community has access to Tele Health Services, robust Co-ordinated Allied Health Planning to delivering better services and shared infrastructure.
At the end of 2017 Central Queensland Rural Health (CQRH) received funding from the Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast Primary Health Network (PHN) to lead the planning of community based suicide prevention activities. More than 250 people have been directly involved in consultation activities to develop a Draft Central Queensland Suicide Prevention Plan with strategies for the six local government areas. These activities have included ongoing face to face and email communication, attendance at meetings and workshops and the formation of Leadership Groups across the footprint.
