Animal Rescue Qld Inc. - Brisbane

Animal Rescue QLD Inc (ARQ) is a registered charity that was started as a result of the flood affected animals in SEQ in January 2011. After our founder, Mel Gillard, saw firsthand the devastation these floods had on not only people and their homes, but also their pets, it was clear that there was not enough being done in our local community to look after homeless animals. As a result ARQ was formed to assist with their inflated numbers of animals during the flood period. We were able to help these animals out of the overcrowded shelter environment and into loving and caring foster homes.

Please be assured that ARQ is a 100% no kill organisation (as well as registered charity and not for profit incorporation) and we will do everything in our power to save as many animals as we can. We also work very hard to re-home these animals into new, suitable forever homes where they will be loved and cherished for the rest of their lives. We currently have carers and support teams in and around Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba and Mackay
