About Us

ABIQ was formed to enhance the treatment of children of autism in Queensland and to promote the useof Early Intervention Programs such as Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA).  Providing early intervention to children with autism gives children a dhance to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

ABIQ believes that families of children with autism deserve a choice of Early Intervention Programs.  We believe that ABA is the most effective form of early intervention program in conjunction with other appropriate therapies.  Our goal is to assist and support families of children with ASD to implement an intervention plan that meets their needs.

ABA therapy provides a structured one-to-one learning environment for children with autism.  It focuses on all areas of development including self-help skills, communication, play skills, academic skills and behaviour skills.  Skills targeted for learning are broken down into small steps.  Each step is then taught by presenting a specific instruction or cue.  Appropriate responses are reinforced so the child is likely to respond in the same way again.  The main goal of ABA is to provide children with autism prerequisites necessary to learn naturally from their environment.

ABIQ has a library which includes toys, books and DVDS of ASD related topics.

ABIQ holds seminars on autism-related topics.
