Australian Red Cross Queensland Division offers a wide range of community services. Refugee assistance and community education on International Humanitarian Law are provided. Playscheme is a range of play activities organised for hospitalised children. Cosmetic Care is available to enhance self esteem for patients hospitalised for a long term. Telecross is a volunteer service providing a regular telephone link of reassurance to people living alone who are in poor health or experiencing loneliness. The Red Cross manages a Community Visitors Scheme for volunteers to visit elderly people in residential care in various areas throughout Queensland e.g. Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton, Townsville and Tully.
