About Us

The Cancer Helpline is the specialised telephone information and support service of the Cancer Council Queensland (previously the Queensland Cancer Fund). This service provides information, support and referral for the cost of a local call. Clients who require counselling will be referred to the Cancer Council Queensland's Cancer Counselling Service, a telephone-based counselling service for people with cancer-related concerns. Please ring for information on literature in languages other than English. The Cancer Council Queensland incorporates a Cancer Support Services Department and a Prevention and Early Detection Unit. Cancer Support Services offer personal and family support, practical assistance, information and education. The Prevention and Early Detection Unit offers brochures, information sheets and videos.
