YMCA Bundaberg 60 & Better Healthy Ageing Program

"Our aim is to reach out to older men (over 50's) who are lonely, isolated and in need of friendship. We aim provide support to improve men's physical, mental, emotional and social well-being and provide them with a sense of belonging.                                                                                                      
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               The Bundaberg Older Men's Network (BOMNET) Inc. aims to provide older men with the opportunity to benefit from individual peer support, to enhance social networks and gain a sense of belonging in the community.

We value older men, regardless of their circumstances, and aim to provide meaningful peer support networks that are responsive to and reflective of individual needs whilst positively promoting the role of men supporting men in the community.

This support group has just been launched and is a first for the Bundaberg district. It has been modelled on the very successful Toowoomba based group The Older Men's Network, # which has been operational since 2001.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Our Drop In Centre is held at the YMCA Stadium Kitchen, 7 Quinn Street, Kepnock, every Tuesday between 9.00 am and 12 Noon. All men 50 years of age and over are welcome."
