Disability Respite and Activity Centres
Community Lifestyle Support offers people with a disability the opportunity to access a heated pool with the equipment and staff needed to safely enjoy the benefits of hydrotherapy.
The indoor heated pool is situated in a fully enclosed building located in the well gardened grounds of the Salvation Army’s Tom Quinn Community Centre, at the end of Killer Street, Bundaberg. Parking, including disabled parking, is available adjacent to the pool building.
Eligible participants can book a one off pool session, or CLS can book regular times for you to attend. For those needing support at or in the pool, CLS offers staff who can be trained to meet your individual needs. These services include showering, dressing, getting into or out of the pool, or a support worker who will get in the pool with you and support you through your exercises
Our Hydrotherapy Program Manager, Sandy Dalton is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, with 25+ years of experience working as a water exercise and hydrotherapy instructor. During your pool sessions, Sandy is your lifeguard and available to assist with hoisting and transferring clients. Private sessions with Sandy and Aquatic Physiotherapist, Elizabeth Hawe are available through Bourbong Street Physiotherapy Centre if required.
