About Us
The BreastScreen Queensland Program is coordinated by the Cancer Screening Preventive Health Unit, Queensland Health. Queensland Health's BreastScreen Queensland Program provides free breast cancer screening to women aged 40 years and over, without breast cancer symptoms. Women aged 50 to 74 years are strongly encouraged to attend for a free breastscreen every 2 years. Individual and group bookings are available and no doctors referral is necessary. The service is available in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay Monday to Friday and the mobile service visits other communities every two years (Maryborough annually). For the cost of a local call, women can make an appointment for a breastscreen by phoning 13 20 50.
