About Us
BreastScreen Qld Cairns Program is coordinated by the Cancer Screening Services Unit, Qld Health. This is a free service to women specifically for those aged 50-74, but women aged 40-49 and those over 75 are also welcome to attend. Individual and group bookings are available, with no doctor's referral needed. Upon Request, Health Promotion Officers are available to speak to community groups and workplaces about breast cancer and breast cancer screening free of charge. A mobile service visits rural and remote communities throughout Far North Queensland and the Torres Strait (more details at www.breastscreen.qld.gov.au). Remember, early detection could save your life.
