The aim is to work closely with general practitioners and allied health to bring about better outcomes for clients via evidence-based best practice. All psychologists working for PsychSerenity have completed an honours and/or postgraduate psychology degree, and are registered members of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and/or The College of Clinical Psychologists, APHRA and have current registration as a psychologist in Queensland.
Psychologists at PsychSerenity provide psychotherapy from a multicultural perspective across varying age groups. They specialise in the treatment of acute and chronic mental health disorders as well as organisational, social and emotional issues. They treat a wide range of difficulties involving anxiety, depression, anger, stress, trauma and abuse. Various approaches to psychotherapy are used, based on the belief that no single model of human emotion and behaviour can entirely encompasses every problem faced by every person. Many diverse schools of psychology are drawn from, including psychodynamic, interpersonal, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioural, biopsychosocial, hypnosis and cross-cultural approaches. Regardless of the treatment perspective, Psychologists at PsychSerenity view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative one, ensuring that you as a client will have significant input into your treatment. We view psychotherapy generally as a journey to personal growth and self-development, by which people can learn to let go of reoccurring fears, patterns, pain, and suffering so that they can live their lives more fully in each present moment.
The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step (Laozi – C 604 BC - C 531 BC). Even the longest and most difficult ventures have a starting point.
