About Us

Gidgee Healing provides a range of services from Allied Health professionals who support the health and wellbeing of our clients and their families with a holistic approach.

An Allied Health Professional is a clinician that is not a doctor, nurse or an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker. Our team consists of Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Exercise Physiologists, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Audiologist, Optometrist and Allied Health Assistants.

Comprehensive care from our Allied Health team is offered free of charge once a referral is made via our General Practitioners. Allied Health Clinicians then work with you and your GP look after your health.

Diet

Eating a healthy, balanced diet can help you maintain a healthy weight and avoid or manage chronic disease. Gidgee Dieticians can help you make good food choices by understanding portion sizes, great recipe ideas and what to cook for the family. They’ll also talk to you about chronic conditions such as diabetes and kidney disease, so you can improve your long-term wellbeing and live a healthier life.

Eye Health

An eye test can identify eye health problems long before you notice any symptoms. And many of these conditions can be successfully treated if found early enough. Regular eye tests mean that our Optometrists can identify the early signs and provide effective treatment. We can also help manage existing conditions and give you practical advice to protect the long term health of your eyes.

Podiatry

Our Podiatrists can help with a range of foot treatments, from day-to-day conditions to more serious problems. This includes ingrown toenails, corns and calluses, bunions, blisters, gout and complications caused by chronic disease. They work closely with GPs and Dieticians to ensure you receive the best support and can help prevent and correct deformities, keep you mobile and relieve pain.

Exercise Physiology

Gidgee’s Exercise Physiologists are there to help you with the prevention and management of chronic disease, injury and disability. You might see an Exercise Physiologist to help you improve overall health and wellbeing, overcome persisting pain caused by injury or overuse, or improve your physical fitness. Working closely with your GP, they can help control your diabetes, allow you to be more independent and can speed up your recovery from injury.

Speech therapy

Gidgee’s speech therapists use culturally safe techniques to asses and treat communication problems and speech disorders. They will give you or your child the tools to deal with speech challenges more effectively and allow you to communicate more effectively.
