About Us

Recognised Entities actively participate in significant decisions made by Child Safety Services regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. Examples of key decisions include investigation and assessment, decisions about the case plan for a child and placement of a child in out-of-home care. The Recognised Entity provides information to Indigenous families throughout these phases of the statutory child protection system.
