About Us

The Womens Diversion Program aims to break the cycle of offending by working with women to address their alcohol and other drug use.

The program helps women develop an understanding of healthy relationships and their beliefs, emotions, attitudes and thoughts through cultural activities including art, language and traditional crafts.

 

  • Women’s Healing Group

The Women’s Healing Group is a support group discussing women specific issues in a safe and healing environment. Past trauma, relationships, family are talked about with peers led by a qualified facilitator.
 

  • Women’s Alcohol and Other Drugs Workshop

The Women’s Alcohol and Other Drugs Workshop is held every Wednesday and supports local women to discuss living with alcohol and other drug issues, how to engage in safe, social activities and their rights in relationships. The group also has support for women experiencing domestic violence.

 

  • Girls Youth

The Girls Youth group is held every Wednesday at the High School to engage young girls in safe and pro-social activities including yarning and dance. This program also provides information, care and support for girls with their healing of past trauma.
