About Us
The Queensland Health Victim Support Service (QHVSS) provides information, support and counselling for victims of serious offences committed by offenders with a mental illness and transferred from the criminal justice system to the forensic mental health system. Information is available through a victim register with 'Information Orders' providing the information to approved victims that is relevant to their safety, wellbeing and recovery. The service is provide by trained and experienced mental health clinicians who have experience in the forensic mental health system. It is a free and confidential service that works closely with other service agencies to provide a more coordinated and stream lined approach to victim recovery.

Queensland Health Victim Support Service (QHVSS) is a free, state-wide service for you and your family if you, or a member of your family, have been a victim of crime by a person with a mental illness or intellectual disability. QHVSS provides free counselling, support and information before, during and after Mental Health Court. QHVSS has offices in Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns.
