Cooktown District Community Centre services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL.

Our vision is strong communities in South East Cape York, where people are happy, healthy, safe and supported to be able to achieve their aspirations and potential.

We aim to provide supports that build the capacity of our communities to respond to the needs of people of all ages within them.

Community Case Worker / Budgeting Advice

¨ Bond loans and Rental Grants

- Help with housing applications

- Applying for an interest free loan for fridges, washing machines, TV's and essential household costs

- Medical / health aids and education expenses

- Food and clothing for those in immediate need

- Setting up Telsta accounts for easier repayments

¨ Outreach to Hope Vale, Wujal Wujal, and Laura

Youth AOD Support

We can help with

- Targeted support for young people 12-24 years

¨ Information, advice and referrals

-Therapeutic case management

-Supporting young people with employment, housing, education and training, living skills

-Reduction in criminal offending, improved social and emotional wellbeing 

Early Years / Early Education

We can help with

¨ Assistance with paperwork in relation to your child care or education service
