Community Housing Ltd services ultimately provide long-term secure rental tenancies for people who pay subsidised market rate.

As an alternative to private rental, our services ensure that people who have low incomes can find a dependable housing arrangement so their children can attend the local school, the parent or parents can maintain employment or study, and the family can generally have enough money to live on.

Outside of these agreements CHL sets rents based in part on 25% of gross household income, plus any Commonwealth Rent Assistance paid to the Tenant by Centrelink, should they be eligible. The rental charge they pay is up to a level of less than 75% of market rent set by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) prescribed benchmarking for the bedroom size of the property in each State in reference to: Non-commercial activities of Charities, cost of supply and market value tests.
