UnitingCare - Hervey Bay

UnitingCare offers financial counselling services free of charge throughout Queensland.  UnitingCare Financial Counsellors assess clients' financial situations and clearly explain what options are available in a comfortable and private session.

UnitingCare Community's Finacial Counsellors will ensure clients are informed about their rights and responsibilities relating to credit and debt collection and can connect them with the appropriate community and government resources to help with their particular situation.  UnitingCare Financial Counsellors can assist to negotiate with creditors and can advocate on the client's behalf where appropriate.

Financial Counsellors commit to help each client to improve their financial wellbeing by:

• individually tailoring assistance to the client's personal circumstances, financial situation and aspirations
• using available networks to support clients
• providing access to an interpreter if clients need one
• encouraging client participation and empowering them to select the options for improvement
• ensuring the client is the decision maker regarding all their financial circumstances.

Financial Counsellors are also available to run workshops on budgeting, managing money and How to be Consumer Wise.
