About Us

Central Queensland Community Legal Centre Inc. is an independent, non-profit organisation funded by grants made to it by the State and Federal Government and donations from the general public.

The Centre’s vision is to provide access to legal services for the vulnerable and disadvantaged in regional, rural and remote communities. The centre was incorporated under the Association Incorporation Act in 1996 and is a registered charity with the Australian Charities & Not for Profit Commission.

Management of the Centre is undertaken by a Management Committee elected by members each year. The Committee members are volunteers drawn from the legal sector, community organisations and academia.

The Centre’s legal and administrative operations are accredited under the National Association of Community Legal Centres.
In conjunction with the CQUniversity, the Centre established a teaching centre at its Rockhampton office. The Robert Fisher Pro Bono Law Clinic provides LAWS students access to a learning facility and the opportunity to participate in real-time learning through observing client interviews.

Please note: In addition to face to face appointments at our offices (in Rockhampton, Gladstone and Emerald), we also provide legal advice at several outreach locations, and via Telephone, Zoom, Skype, Teams or FaceTime appointments from anywhere in Central Queensland.
