parkrun - Gladstone

A lovely 'out and back' course that starts from the Lions Park.Head west where the path carves its way along the banks of Police Creek. As the track progresses you will find yourself along the upper reaches of Police Creek, admiring the occasional uninterrupted views of Port Curtis and the surrounding islands. At the end of Cemetery Road, turn left and pass over a foot bridge to Blain Park. Continue around the outskirt of Blain Park until you reach Blain Park Road and turn right towards the scenic Lake Callemondah following its banks until you reach the 2.5k turning point at the start of the weir. Bathroom facilities are located at the start/finish destination in Lions Park.The track is nearly all flat and there are some lovely views and vistas along the way. Facilities We are family friendly and all of your children are welcome, whether they be furry or not.A variety of stalls and offers will be available after the run in the Lions park.Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee at our generous partners Jamaica Blue who have special deals just for parkrunners - please come and join us! Getting There Location of startThe run starts starts from the Lions Park. Getting there by public transportCatch a bus to Kin Kora (drops off directly at Stockland Gladstone). Walk through the underpass from the East Mall (Big W) to the West Mall (Kmart) then head south for 450m to the Lions Park. Buses depart from the Valley, Seaview Heights (Clinton), Carinya Park (New Auckland/Emmadale Park), Toolooa Estate (Sun Valley/Telina) and various city locations on the City Loop. Getting there on footFrom Stockland Gladstone take the underpass from the East Mall (Big W) to the West Mall (Kmart) under the Dawson Highway. Walk south for 450m past McDonalds and into the Lions Park. Getting there by roadFrom the Gladstone CBD take Dawson Highway (State Route 60) south towards Calliope until you reach the roundabout outside Stockland Gladstone & McDonalds. Take the third exit towards McDonalds and Stockland (Kmart precinct), park in the Shopping Centre car park and walk over to the Lions Park located behind McDonalds.
