??The 'Reedy Creek Raptors' (as they were originally known) had been formed because of the huge population growth in the Robina area on the Gold Coast and the growing popularity of rugby league as a team sport.

?The 'Raptor' was a member of the Jurassic Era and a large bird of prey which was known for its quick reflexes, attacking prowess and ability to strike when least expected. It had great speed and agility as it glided, swerved, ducked and weaved its way around anything that tried to come near it!!! And so the 'Raptor' was adopted as the symbol of the club.
