Intensive Family Support - Ipswich

Families referred to the IFS service cannot be currently working with Child Safety Services. Referral criteria include age of children, geographic area, and voluntary agreement to information being recorded on a Department of Communities secure database.

IFS uses assertive engagement strategies and a case-management framework to actively work with all members of families with complex needs toward change. Families are linked into community support agencies where possible to ensure ongoing supports are available to family members, or private service providers where community supports are unavailable. Case conferencing with schools and other support agencies may be undertaken to reduce duplication of services and create effective care-plans.
