About Us
The Australian Army Cadets is a leading national youth development organisation, with the character and values of the Australian Army, founded on a strong community partnership, fostering and supporting an ongoing interest in the Australian Army. The Australian Army Cadets adopts the values of the Australian Army - Courage, Initiative, Respect and Teamwork - to empower youth to achieve their potential.
139 Australian Army Cadet unit parades every Wednesday night from 6pm to 9pm during school terms. We also conduct 2 - 3 weekend activities per term. Training can include things such as field exercises, engineering, firearms training, first aid, physical fitness and adventurous training. There are also higher level activities run by the SQLD AAC Brigade, these include leadership courses and an annual exercise run free of charge by the Australian Army where the cadets spend 7 to 11 days at one of South Queensland's Defence bases where they will get hands on experience with the Australian Army.
The fees for 139 ACU are $50 per term and $10 per weekend activity. All uniforms and equipment are provided free of charge by the Australian Army.
