About Us
Soroptimist International of Logan (SI Logan or SIL) is not-for-profit womens service organisation made up of a group of local women who volunteer our time, skills and passion to deliver projects and activities aligned to the Soroptimist International Vision, Mission and Goals - see below. We are a member of the SI South Queensland region; SI Australia nation; SI South West Pacific Federation; and Soroptimist International. We have member status on the United Nations' Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).
MEETINGS: Members are encouraged to attend monthly business meetings and/or a regular monthly social catch up.
PROJECTS: Members are able to put forward suggestions/ideas for projects and activities they are interested in and can contribute as much, or as little, time as they can to any given project or activity. Whilst SI Logan focuses on a range of local projects, we also contribute to regional, national or international projects which can be identified by SI Logan members, other organisations, or from the SI region or international channels.
SI Vision: Soroptimist International is committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peaceful communities worldwide.
SI Mission: Soroptimists inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls through a global network of members and international partnerships.
SI Goal #1: To improve the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities
SI Goal #2 - To be a global voice for increasing access to education and leadership for women and girl
