SHINE Domestic and Family Violence service

Extending to the Jimboomba, Yarrabilba and Flagstone districts

Through a partnership with Beaucare, we offer counselling, court support and home safety upgrades for people experiencing domestic and family violence, and specialised counselling for children affected by domestic violence.

Intensive Family Support

Through our Intensive Family Support service, we work closely with parents to help them get the skills and support they need to care for and protect their children, helping families work well.

Functional Family Therapy-Child Welfare

Our Functional Family Therapists work with families over four to seven months to help them function in more positive and productive ways. This program addresses factors that have contributed to families being at risk of child safety intervention.

Financial counselling and capability support

Our financial counsellors help people understand their money and bills. With their assistance, people learn how to negotiate better finance deals so they can sort out their finances even when they are facing unemployment, sickness or family problems.

Also, our financial capability workers are at Jimboomba once a week to support people who are struggling financially. They are ready to help locals with budgeting and managing their money, and to connect them with government concessions and emergency relief payments.

YFS Legal

Based at Slacks Creek, our community legal centre offers a selection of its services from Jimboomba. The centre provides one-off free legal advice appointments concerning family, domestic violence, civil and criminal law matters. YFS Legal also represents clients aged 10 to 25 years who find themselves needing help with criminal law matters.

ParentsNext is for parents of young children. We help parents prepare for future employment and gain confidence, skills and knowledge so they are ready to join the workforce when their children start school.
