Community Housing provider

Community Rent Scheme, Mackay provides transitional, low cost, unsupported accommodation to Social Housing eligible & approved applicants. Community Rent Scheme properties (units and houses) are allocated from a referral list generated by the local Housing Services office (Wood St.,  Mackay) or nominated by another Community service organisation for consideration at the time of a vacancy.  Community Rent Scheme (CRS) accommodation is NOT crisis or long term accommodation. All CRS tenancies are covered by a periodic general tenancy agreement, all tenants must work with staff on a Tenant Exit Plan (so as not to rely on long term Social Housing as their exit point) and respond to 6 monthly reviews. CRS tenants attract Rent Assistance via their Centrelink entitlement if eligible which brings their rent in line with Public Rental rates.
