About Us

Legal Aid Queensland works with our partners to provide access to justice for disadvantaged Queenslanders by providing legal information, advice and representation.

Legal Aid Queensland provides legal information, advice, referrals and representation to financially and socially disadvantaged Queenslanders in the areas of civil, criminal and family law.

Legal Aid Queensland’s information and referral services are free. Our legal representation service is subject to means, merits and guidelines tests. We focus on giving legal advice to people who are financially or socially disadvantaged and have no access to private legal advice or representation.

To get legal help, call the Legal Aid Queensland legal information line on 1300 651 188. The legal information line is staffed by client information officers who can provide legal information and arrange appointments for legal advice.
