 Centacare Homelessness Service

The goal of the service is to assist families who
are homeless by providing transitional housing, support and case management.
Aim of  The service will provide transitional housing and a range of supports to
enable families to secure long-term accommodation and improve their ability
to provide a safe and stable home life. The target group are families and
residents of Mount Isa who are currently homeless and are unable to obtain stable
accommodation.

How can we help?
The service will work with families and individuals in a flexible and individualised
way to meet specific housing and family needs. Families will be linked with case managers
who can work for up to 3 months to achieve the following:

Assistance to obtain/maintain
independant housing
Assistance with locating suitable
accommodation, which meets their
particular needs
Providing advice and referral in relation to
local services in Mount Isa
Advocacy: To speak and negotiate on
families behalf in relation to service access
Housing and accommodation
Information Advice and Referral
Personal Support

Reconnect- Youth Homelessness and Support Service

 Reconnect provides confidential support to families to try and help young people to stay at home

until they have the necessary skills to become independent.

Reconnect helps young people who are homeless and those at risk of homelessness to become more involved with their family, work,

education, training and the community through mediation, counselling and practical support for the whole family.

Reconnect works closely with other local services to provide help in a way that is sensitive to your family's needs and those of your community.
