Cloncurry Community Support Service
Offers; generalist support, counselling, advice and referral to families and individuals
Primary role; community development
This service delivers a service to Cloncurry that is responsive to the needs of individuals and families experiencing personal, social, financial or emotional difficulties, especially in a crisis situation. Referrals can come from a range of services and networks. After receiving referrals and making an assessment of the situation the service will refer the matter to the relevant agency to support the needs of the client. A case management framework is utilised through assessment and support. Support for clients can include, but is not limited to, any of the following
· Build their capacity to deal with their crisis situation
· Facilitate and enhance access to services that provide practical and emotional assistance
· Advocate on individuals and families behalf to access benefits and services they need
· Assist individuals and families to develop networks that support them
A key element of the service delivery is networking with key government, non government and community partners to improve coordination of ser ices to clients and provide support for clients.

Remote Area Integrated Family Support Service
Service offered in Normanton, Cloncurry, Julia Creek and Richmond.
Referrals from self, government and non government agencies
Early intervention case management that focuses on generalist counselling and support service to the Normanton, Cloncurry, Richmond and Julia Creek communities
This service is a prevention and early intervention service; building capacity in the family unit and assisting families to access supports needed to stay out or remain out of the Child Protection system. The target group is families with children 0-18 years. A Team Leader leads the service from an office based in Normanton, also located in Normanton is admin support and a Family Support Worker. The Senior Counsellor is managed by the Team leader in Normanton and operates the eastern arm of the service from Cloncurry. The service is a direct service outreach delivery model. The service works within a case management framework through assessment, family intervention, counselling and support and where necessary participating in a collaborative co-case management approach to clients

BRIDGE is an early intervention program that aims to empower families to develop skills and enhance family dynamics.
The BRIDGE Counsellors will work with you and your family, providing your family with intense, in-home support and one on one therapeutic counselling where required.

Counselling Intervention Service
Services Mount Isa
Counselling service for families with child/ren 0 – 18 who are involved with Child Safety Services
Counselling Intervention Service (CIS) is a voluntary counselling service for families, carers, children and young people who are involved with Department of Communities – (Child Safety Services), to provide therapeutic assistance to work through goals that will prevent further statutory intervention.
Normanton Family Intervention Service
Service offered in Normanton and Karumba
Referrals only accepted from Child Safety Services
Family intervention focusing on development of parenting skills and building attachment
Family must be currently involved with Child Safety Services through Child Protection Orders, Intervention with Parental Agreement or a Support Service case.
The service undertakes the coordination, referral and provision of information i.e. casework activities such as
- assessment of the family’s support needs and strengths; including building healthier and stronger attachments between parent and child
- planning of an intervention including method and period of support to be delivered to a family within a trauma informed and child development practice framework
- identify, coordinate, liaise and implement resources, other sources of support and service options that will improve the parenting ability, strengths and overall wellbeing of a family
- link a family directly to services that are needed and consistent with the CSS case plan (e.g. housing, income and employment support)
- monitor the services that are coordinated and delivered to a family
- work collaboratively with other non-FIS agencies in either joint interactions or support work based on clearly identified roles and support objectives, derived benefits and goals for the family
- Where required provide advocacy regarding barriers to a family’s access to services that are not delivered. Managed or controlled by CSS
